Conference Media

I love helping membership associations and organizations make the most of their member engagement at their annual conferences and other events. I am available to cover your meeting on-site or virtually as an in-house reporter for your blog, electronic newsletter or print show daily. I’m also available to copyedit articles and proofread your daily publication on-site or remotely during the meeting.

I have:

  • Served as a daily blogger on-site for the American Public Health Association’s (APHA’s) Annual Meeting
  • Covered online sessions during the pandemic for the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) virtual conference
  • Wrote for the daily newspaper on-site for the Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC)
  • Covered sessions and proofread the daily print newspaper at the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) annual conference
  • Managed the social media strategy (three years) and daily on-site newspaper (nine years) for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)
“Melanie came to our rescue when we were short-staffed and facing mounting deadlines. She seamlessly joined our communications team to cover our annual meeting for our blog and delivered compelling reports and interviews with experts in the field. She produces quality work, and she’s a real pleasure to work with.”David Fouse, then-director of communications, APHA; now director of marketing and communications, APHL
