I’m a writer, editor and social media strategist who has won awards in all three of these areas. I aim to help associations, nonprofits and companies communicate effectively with their audience through my unique perspective as an editor passionate about social media.
What I can do for you:
Write—I specialize in health and medical writing, but I’m not limited there. I’ve also written in the areas of education, real estate, business, travel, career choices and much more. I have written for consumers, association members, physicians and other health care professionals, and newspaper readers. I can write blog posts, consumer magazine pieces, member newsletter articles, electronic newsletters, tweets, long-form articles, website sections, how-to articles, Q&As and much more.
Edit—I’ve been the managing editor or content manager of newspapers, magazines, websites, print and electronic newsletters, and convention show dailies for nearly 20 years. I’m available to help manage your publications and develop content strategies on a short- or long-term basis. I can also help if you’re in need of a copy editor or proofreader.
Social media—I’ve developed and managed social media strategies for associations from a writer and editor’s perspective. I focus primarily on Twitter and Facebook but will incorporate other social media platforms as needed by the client. I will work collaboratively with your team to develop social media goals, strategies and tactics. I can consult on specific social media projects or, if you prefer, I can manage your social media strategy on a contract basis. We can also work together to tie in your print publications with your social media platforms.
Conferences and Events—I love helping associations make the most of their member engagement at their annual conferences and other events. I can serve as managing editor of your daily convention publication in print or electronic form or cover your meeting on site as an in-house reporter for your blog, electronic newsletter or print show daily.
I’m also passionate about helping your team develop and implement an effective social media strategy surrounding your annual conference, including Twitter, Facebook, blogs, electronic newsletters, social media jumbotrons and social media meet-ups.
